  • The most effective treatment for young children just diagnosed with autism is early intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI or IBT) and the younger you get your child started and the more intense and high quality the program, the better the long-term outcomes for your child will be according to the best scientific evidence.

  • Don't rely on or expect Birth to Three to get your child what he or she needs if you are in Connecticut because you will not get a program that meets the criteria for EIBI or IBT. Your choices are restricted to just 2 providers and we have yet to see any family receive any program that meets the criteria for intensive, high quality behavioral intervention.

  • If you have insurance or medicaid, you should use them to get your child the 30-40 hours of intensive behavioral intervention needed for the next 2-3 years of your child's life to give your child the best opportunity to get on the best developmental path possible.
